Winners of Xogot Jam 4
For Xogot Jam 4, we challenged developers to build games around the theme Handoff, and once again we loved seeing all the different directions people took it. Across 11 submissions, handoffs took the form of packages, pizzas, fire, devices and more.
We put together a highlights video featuring every game submitted to Xogot Jam 4:
Xogot Jam 4 Highlights
Thank you to everyone who spent part of their summer building, experimenting, testing, and sharing a game with us. You can check out all of the Xogot Jam 4 submissions and results on itch.io.
Now, on to the winners!
Overall Winner & First in Presentation: CANNONPOP!
by Draint
CANNONPOP! takes the overall Xogot Jam 4 crown, as well as first place in the Presentation category.

It is a fast, one-tap arcade game where you launch Pip from cannon to cannon, timing each shot while building combos, dodging hazards, and chasing a higher score. The handoff from one cannon to the next makes the jam theme part of the core gameplay, while the polished visuals, animations, sound, and satisfying game loop make it remarkably easy to keep playing for one more run.
The game was developed with Xogot for Mac, with visuals created in Affinity Designer, audio made with Strudel.cc.
Congratulations to Draint on taking the top spot!
Best Use of Theme: Handrop It
by Axenntio
Handrop It takes the idea of a handoff literally: your job is to pass a package from one person to another until it reaches its destination.
The challenge is doing it quickly and accurately. You have just 60 seconds to make it through 13 levels, with your score determined by the speed and precision of each delivery. It is a simple idea that puts the theme directly at the center of the game.

The entire project was made on iPad, using Xogot for development, Resprite for graphics, GarageBand for music, and Working Copy for source control in Git.
Best Use of Xogot: Eyes On Road
by Lunatik Games
Eyes On Road wins our Use of Xogot award for turning multiple Apple devices into part of the game itself.

At its core, Eyes On Road is a delivery game, but its standout feature is real-time cross-device gameplay. The main game can run on one device while a second device becomes an interactive phone with its own GPS, delivery orders, and controls. The two stay synchronized in real time, and the game can even hand the controls back to the main screen if the second device disconnects.
The project was built across Xogot for Mac, iPad Pro, and iPhone, using the iPad for tasks including tilemap work and the iPhone for live secondary-device testing. It is a particularly fun example of treating Xogot's ability to move between Apple devices as part of the game design itself.
First in Creativity & Design: Pizza Flicker
by lucaslizama
Pizza Flicker wins the Creativity & Design Award for answering an important question: why stop your scooter to deliver a pizza when you can simply throw it at someone's house?

Inspired by the flicking mechanics of a certain well-known creature-catching mobile game, Pizza Flicker has you dragging, aiming, and launching pizzas from your scooter toward waiting customers. Put a spin on your throw to curve a pizza toward a house off to the side—or send it straight through a window for an especially memorable delivery.
The result is a funny, touch-friendly arcade mechanic that feels immediately at home on a phone or tablet. Complete each shift, then hand the next round of orders off to the next delivery person.
Honorable Mentions
In addition to our category winners, we're recognizing three more games that placed in the top three in at least one judging category.
Handoff
by Rich P

Handoff builds its central puzzle around a group of robots with a problem: there is only one hand to go around. Each robot can process items on a conveyor belt only while it has the hand, leaving you to move and throw it between stations to keep everything running.
DodgeBomb
by IEdible

DodgeBomb turns the theme into an explosive game of hot potato. Players throw a ticking bomb back and forth, with the timer running whenever someone is holding it and pausing while the bomb is in the air. When the timer reaches zero, whoever is holding it is eliminated. Last one standing wins.
Sous-Robot
by Joseph Smithberger

Sous-Robot puts you in a busy kitchen where one pair of hands is not enough. Prepare dishes yourself, record the routines needed to make them, then hand those routines off to robot helpers who can repeat the work for you. As your robotic kitchen crew grows, the hectic lunch rush gradually turns into a smoothly automated operation.
Thank You!
Awards only tell part of the story of a game jam, and our Xogot Jam 4 Highlights video includes every game that was submitted.
Along with the winners and honorable mentions above, be sure to check out FlameRunner, Lacerta. Misterio en la ría de Vigo, Last Spark, and Blocky Desert.
We're grateful to everyone who participated, whether you won an award, finished your first game, tried Xogot for the first time, experimented with a new workflow, or simply used the jam as an excuse to build something.
We hope everyone had a great time with Xogot Jam 4. Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to everyone who helped make the jam happen.
We'll see you later this year for Xogot Jam 5!
